This ongoing list is more for me so I don’t have to keep searching for these, but if someone else ever finds this useful then I’ll feel like I did a little bit of good in the world for 5 minutes. Then I’ll go back to being my usual hideous... View Article

The Next Web recently opined that the web has become a boring homogenised place. In terms of work, I tend to agree in some ways, and have done for a while, see: I wondered when it would happen & now it has: I am officially bored of web design/builds. — Mark... View Article
Thanks for all the bad times. I’m sure you’ll pop back up in a few conversations going forward, you’ve still got your old friends in IE users to watch the sun set with and I can still always find you online, gambling somewhere, I suppose. It wasn’t all bad, sure, we... View Article

Hi anonymous question asker. Bad news for the designers out there: not much. Emails have the digital capability of a sausage. They are literally stuck in the past as vast swathes of the market are still stuck on old versions of Outlook which uses a version of Word to render rather... View Article
1/2 words? Title case, as a command. 3+ words? Use sentence case as if you are carrying on a conversation. Sidenote: Adding certain words like “now”, “today”, “instant” or “quick” adds a perception of urgency for the user, but you already knew that. I’m as guilty of doing this as anyone else: Name* That little asterix, usually accompanied by some little text. If you’re real lucky that little text appears at the top of the form, if you’re medium lucky it’s at the bottom but it is there. Unlucky users will get no text. Why is this... View Article
